We are so happy that our baby Brody is here safe and sound!

He is almost 2 weeks old, so I wanted to find time to write down
his birth story before I forgot details!
Brody Paul Pace was born March 14, 2016 at 11:14am.
He was 7 lb.s and 13 ounces.
I was so lucky to have another smooth delivery!
Let me back up a bit.
I had decided that I wanted to be induced at 39 weeks if I hadn't gone into
labor on my own by then.
Danny came at 38 weeks, and at my 36 week appointment,
my doctor was pretty positive I wouldn't even make it to 39 weeks
with how progressed I already was!
At 37 weeks, he kept telling me I would be going into labor anyday!
And I was so ready. I was so uncomfortable, sore and ready to meet our baby!

I started trying to be as active as I could.
Going on walks and being outside with Danny, walking on the treadmill multiple times a day...
I was having braxton hicks contractions almost constantly, but nothing consistant.
I was 39 weeks, and Bronson and I woke up at 5:30am to go get induced!
We went out to breakfast together then headed to hospital!
We were so excited! Being induced actually worked out perfectly.
We were able to plan on exactly when we'd be leaving so we'd have people to watch Danny.
We got to the hospital at 8am, and I was started on pitocin at 8:30am.
I was already dilated to a 4 1/2 and my nurses said that I'd have my baby that afternoon!
Then my doctor came to break my water at 9am.
As soon as I had my water break, the contractions were SO strong and started getting so painful.
I had known my whole pregnancy that I would be getting an epidural,
I had known my whole pregnancy that I would be getting an epidural,
Pretty quickly, I asked to get it. I wanted to enjoy labor as much as possible,
and that definately did the trick!
At 11am my nurse came in to check to see how far I was dilated.
I was at a 10 and ready to push. We (including the nurses) were so shocked!
They hurry and called my doctor and within 3 pushes our baby was here!
Brody was then placed on my chest and I was able to hold him with Brons right next to us.
We took our time enjoying that moment, then were moved to postpartum/recovery rooms.
The rest of the day, we had family and friends come and visit.
A couple days before, Danny had gotten sick and still was not feeling very well.
Bronson left that evening to go home to be with him.
We then found out the next day that Danny had RSV.
I was so sad that I couldn't be home to help take care of him.
Brons and Danny would facetime Brody and I at the hospital and you could see how
miserable Danny was feeling. It was so hard not being able to see them!
RSV is contagious for about 6 days, so to make sure Brody didn't get it,
we went to stay at my parents house until the weekend!
It was alot of fun to spend time with them, but I couldn't wait to get home to my boys!
Saturday morning, Bronson came to get me and it was so nice to finally see Danny.
We are now all healthy, a little sleep deprived, but doing well adjusting to being a family of 4!
Now that Brody is here, we can't imagine life without him.
He is such a happy baby!
The only time he cries is when he gets his diaper changed.
He loves to be swaddled and to be snuggled.
He is a champ at nursing.
He was already over his birth weight at a week old and I'm so glad he is so good at eating!
I was so nervous about nursing since I wasn't able to at all with Danny.

Danny has been doing pretty well with the adjustment.
He still throws tantrums alot the time when people are holding Brody
and not giving him all the attention but he's doing better!
Danny LOVES to hold Brody and gets so excited when he does.
It is the cutest!
I can't wait for them to grow up together and be best friends!
Before I write a novel, here are some pictures we've taken over the past week and a half!
Less than a day old.
After he was first born, Brody was pretty fussy. The only thing that calmed him down was holding Brons' finger. So cute!
This was the day Brody and I came home and all 4 of us went on our first walk.
This is my favorite picture so far!
Thank you to everyone for the congratulations and sweet messages!
Love,
The Paces
